The Stopwatch & Countdown Timer puts two timers on one page. The stopwatch measures elapsed time to the hundredth of a second and records laps, marking the fastest and slowest. The countdown runs from any duration up to 99:59:59, or from a preset, and beeps for up to one minute when time is up, vibrating on devices that support it.
Both timers keep running when you switch between them, and they read the device clock instead of counting ticks, so the time stays correct while the browser tab is in the background. Nothing is saved or uploaded: reloading or closing the page resets both timers.
Are my times or laps saved?
No. The timers run only in this page and nothing is uploaded or stored. Copy your laps before you close or reload the page, because both timers reset.
Does the timer keep running in a background tab?
Yes. Time is read from the device clock, so the display is correct when you return. Browsers can delay the end of a countdown by about a second in a background tab, the timers reset if the page is closed, and time while the device sleeps may not be counted.
Why didn't the alarm make a sound?
Sound plays only when “Play a sound when time is up” is on and the device is not muted. Browsers allow audio only after you press a button or key on the page, so start the countdown here. The alarm repeats for one minute or until you stop it. Vibration works only on devices and browsers that support it.
Which keyboard shortcuts are available?
Space starts or pauses, R resets, and F switches fullscreen. On the stopwatch, L records a lap. Shortcuts are ignored while you type in a field.
How long can the timers run?
The countdown accepts up to 99 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds. The stopwatch has no fixed limit and shows hours once it passes 60 minutes.
